Michael Von Sas represents small business owners, farmers, builders, and landowners in commercial and property disputes in judicial, administrative, and arbitration proceedings throughout Maryland.
Mr. Von Sas joins Evans Law after several years of complex litigation experience before the state and federal trial courts of Maryland, having trained under some of the most respected trial attorneys in the State. Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Von Sas clerked for two judges of the Circuit Court for Anne Arundel County and was instilled with a first love of the Maryland Rules of Procedure. Mr. Von Sas is regarded as an injunction specialist and is often called upon by friends and colleagues in the local business and legal communities to assist in obtaining or defending against injunctive relief before the Circuit Courts and Federal District Court. His representative experience includes boundary and sale disputes between neighbors, family members, and domestic partners, declaratory judgment actions concerning commercial leases, disputes between commercial landlords and business tenants, and construction defect actions.
Mr. Von Sas holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Russian Literature from the Catholic University of America and a Juris Doctor from the University of Baltimore School of Law. Prior to entering law school, Mr. Von Sas was employed variously in the public and private sectors, including a stint in the wine importing business, and retains a WSET sommelier certification.
Mr. Von Sas is an active member of the Maryland State Bar Association, the Anne Arundel County Bar Association, and the James A. Cawood Inns of Court, and is passionate about historic preservation in Annapolis, where he resides.
